Bel brings 30 years of experience in the semiconductor, aerospace, and defense technology fields. Bel was with API Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ:ATNY), now a private company, from March 2011 until February 2015, where he was the President & Chief Operations Officer and then the President & Chief Executive Officer. At API Technologies, he transformed a small OTC manufacturing-focused firm into a NASDAQ traded technology products leader and established one of the largest high reliability RF/Microwave companies in the world. Prior to API Technologies, Bel was Corporate Senior Vice President of Operations at Microsemi Corporation (NASDAQ: MSCC) and a member of their executive team. During his tenure, he was responsible for several divisions serving the Aerospace & Defense markets and significantly improved operating margins and overall profitability.
Prior to Microsemi, Bel spent over 22 years at International Rectifier (NYSE: IRF), now Infineon Technologies AG, in expanding leadership and management roles, culminating as the Vice President of Aerospace & Defense business unit. During the last 15 years, Bel has completed 17 M&A transactions. Bel graduated cum laude with a B.S. in Engineering, majoring in Electrical Engineering, from California State University, Northridge and is a member of national engineering honor society, Tau Beta Pi. Bel also holds an M.S. degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Southern California, a Juris Doctor degree from Southwestern University School of Law. Bel currently serves as an outside director of Efficient Power Conversion Corporation, a leading provider of gallium nitride (GaN)- based power management technology.
